Q.
Why should I have a web page?
A. Because it is one of the
cheapest ways to advertise to many
millions of people. Much cheaper
than ads, brochures, flyers, TV
commercials,
Radio commercials, etc a good web
site can reach millions without
costing
you anything more than the original
cost of development. Unlike brochures,
ads, and flyers, it will not cost
you to print a copy for each person
to view your message. Your web page
will be viewed worldwide. It can
be
viewed immediately. You are not limited
to what you can print.
Perhaps most important - chances are your competition is on the internet NOW!

What types of web sites are there?
A. There are a variety of
web pages which you can choose.
Naturally, the more complex a site
is - the more it will cost. You
can, for example, order a static
web site which serves primarily
as a web brochure allowing potential
customers to review multiple pages
and to contact you using email.
You can also order forms which
can be sent to an email address
you designate using a cgi-bin
form on
a pre-selected
host server.
Other
types are php designed pages,
tcl and perl cgi pages together
with database driven sites. The
cost of your site will depend
upon
what you need. If you are contemplating
a complex site using cgi scripts
and database driven scripts, we
recommend you request a quote
(and
provide us a complete explanation
of what you require). You can
also tell us what you have budgeted
and work with us to see what we
can provide for the available
funds. Click

one?
A. A host is a computer
which is hooked up to the Internet
24
hours a day 7 days a week and which
will be the source of your page
for other Internet viewers to use.
You may wish to have us provide
you with direct hosting service
- or you may elect to pick another
by searching the Internet. We will
set you up with the host of your
choice. This includes communicating
with your hosting service and
loading
the necessary files. Tightwe Communicaations
and other services usually offer
virtual servers (meaning that you
can share a server with others
-
or a dedicated server which can
run from $250 to over $1,000 a

package is charged at $2.95 @ month
with an annual committment.
If Tightweb also developes your

are free.

you if you can give us some idea
of what you want, 3) or a combination
of option 1 and
2. Tightweb Communications has gained a reputation
of being a premier provider of
professional
web sites (Click
Here to See Tightweb News).
Over a year ago Tightweb
decided
to take its services public.
Over the past year - Tightweb has sought small to moderate sized companies who
were watching their interest costs.
Since we have provided internet
and web
services
to some of the largest Fortune
500 companies in the US, we have
the ability to do the same for
small companies and we can
do the same for you!
Q.
What if I live in another state,
country, or continent?
A. Doesn't matter. We will
provide you all our services no
matter where in the world you are!
Using our client login page - you
can access your account 24 hours
a day - 7 days a week to review
the progress of your site, critique,
change and/or modify it - or send
us comments. Once the site is approved
and activated - you will have a
custom designed control panel available
to monitore and manage your site.
Q.
When are payments due?
A. Payments regarding your
domain name or host services are
due on the service or provider
terms.
These are usually due during
the initial name registration or
host
setup.
For the host it will depend on
which
one you choose to use. If you decide
to have Tightweb Communications host your
site
for you - we require a twelve month subscription
using PayPal's security payment tools.
(prior to us loading your site
to
the server). If you're using another
hosting company, naturally, you'll
have to meet their requirements
before they'll allow us to load
to their site for you. Regarding
custom design and development -
You pay when you approve the site
design. Should you require special
coding, cgi pages, database preparation,
ASP, Cold Fusion, etc - you can
either have us do it - or another
firm. If you elect to have us do
the code work, payment are usually required
with the order. Tightweb
requires full payment once the
site design and working url
is approved
- prior to it being loaded on your
host. Tightweb can not start a
project
- if there is no domain name yet
registered - without a deposit
equal
to at least one quarter of the
projected budget. You will have
an opportunity
to view your proposed page (like
this one) and you'll get a RISK
FREE preview of your web site before
approving any of the work. Payments
may be made by MO, Certified or
Personal Check or by credit card. Payments, other than by credit card, will be required to clear before work can commence.
In addition, Tightweb will continue
to work
with you for thirty days after site
approval to ensure that everything
is satisfactory. In addition, Tightweb
provides tools for FREE uploads, editing, ftp accounts, emails and database editing..
Q.
Does Tightweb charge any up front
fees?
A. We require payment with a hosting
and stock/template web site order
- we usually don't on custom site
development since they require
approval by
the
client but we do expect an honest
- straight forward approach to
all
web projects. If there are cgi
scripts/pages, databases etc which
need to be developed
- these payments are required with
the order. We can not start cgi
or database work until a suitable
hosting service is available. However,
such orders can be made once the
design
has been
developed, tested and approved
by you. Tightweb
only charges for site development
once the client has fully approved
the design and operation of the
custom web site. Once approved,
the full amount is due prior to
uploading the web site to the
hosting
server. If the client allows the
project to lag for an extended
period,
Tightweb will consider the project
completed and bill for the fee.
For hosting services, Tightweb
requires at least an annual subsription payable each month.
Q.
How and when can I make modifications
to a web site in progress?
A. You can make major design changes
to your web site anytime up to
the
completion and approval of the
web site. After that, you can edit your site making your own changes.
Tightweb gains
much of its clientele from word
of
mouth
and through referrals. Keeping
our clients happy is always of
primary
concern to us!
Q.
Which is the best way for me to
contact Tightweb Communications?
A. E-mail is probably
the best method for communicating
with us for the following reasons.
1) it will not matter which time
zone you are in when you email.
2) it's free unlike phone and fax
calls
3) you can also send us your company
logo and other pictures, files,
or clip-art with you're email (using
the email attachment options);
and
we will receive them instantly.
4) it is instant communication.
5) you will be able to preview
your
web site through our web site unless
you don't have access to the internet
and in that case other arrangements
will be made. Contact
Tightweb Communication. In
the Tightweb site you'll find
a number
of forms for use in requesting
various services. You can use
this
Short
Form to request
services.
Q.
How do I know that I'm getting a
good price?
A. The best way
for you to find out what a good
price is - is for you to search
the Internet for other companies.
Pay special attention especially
to what kind of service and quality
you get and not just price. For
example, there have been cases where
apparently web site development
providers have not formatted the
web pages correctly and necessary
to allow web search engines to find
their client's pages only for these
clients to find out later that it
hadn't been accessible to Internet
viewers. In other cases telephone web sellers will set up a site that is neither independent or accessable by others on the internet. To get an idea of what
we charge you can review Our
Rates . You might
also wish to check out our Promotional
Page for additional
important information on how to
promote your web site.
Q.
How can I keep my web site up to
date?
A. It depends. You will be able to both upload new files or edit and modify the existing pages using Tightweb's FREE tools.
If you wish, you may
obtain
a maintenance service contract either from
Tightweb
or from another maintenance service
provider. It is generally advisable
for you to have the service provider
who created your web site maintain
it because they are most familiar
with your web site. If you are
not
getting satisfactory maintenance
from your current maintenance
provider,
then you are probably better off
with someone else. In most cases
- ftp updates are available and
there are software programs which
will also allow site modification.
Q.
Can I add items to my web site on
a per item basis?
A. Yes. You can also have
your site designed as a dynamic
html site controlled by a database.
This is a little more expensive,
but it allows you to make changes
on the site by yourself with no
additonal charge.
Q.
What if I don't want to pay for
something that I haven't seen?
A. Then don't. Tightweb
doesn't usually ask for payment
on custom site design
until you are fully satisfied with
the design and basic operation
of
your new web site. Once approval
is given, payment can be made
by
check, money order and credit card.
Since you can see
the layout and page involved when
using
stock and template pages - we ask
for payment with order.
Q.
Who will register the URL?
A. As noted above - We will
register it for you if you wish
but you will be required to prepay
the registration cost. If you'd
rather, you may select another
hosting service. See
Domain Registration Information
When ordering
from our stock or template gallery
- we will register it free.
Q.
How do I know if a URL is already
taken?
A. Go to Internic's address
at www.networksolutions.com
(click with your mouse here (above)
-- or on the 'Domain' button on
our home page) and search under
their

---- or custom designed. Fees for
such work will be passed on to the
client as part of the development
cost.
Q.
What are frames?
A. Many web pages have one
(like this one), two, three and
more. You can stipulate three frames,
two frames or one frame. Keep in
mind that framing and other details
will add to the over all price.
Q.
What are image maps?
A. The "I Want ..."
button on this page is an image
map. -When you roll your mouse on
that graphic a pop up window appears.
Suppose you and a friend were in
the same photo. If you wanted to,
we could designate 2 areas of that
photo which can be clicked on allowing
you to go to two different web pages.
For instance, if your friend is
clicked on, then the link will take
whoever clicked on it to his web
page and vice versa.
Q.
Where do I start?

addition, by using your personalized
control panel - you will be able
to monitor your site's activity
